Read: Genesis 25-26
Marked: Genesis 25:34, And Jacob gave Esau bread and stew of lentils; then he ate and drank, arose, and went his way. Thus Esau despised his birthright.
Because Esau was hungry and desired what Jacob had, he was willing to sell his birthright, all his future power and posterity.
When I sin because of the lust of my flesh and lust of my eyes, am I not doing the same thing?
Do I value my birthright in Christ above all so that I hold fast to the future promise I have in Jesus? Or am I willing to give it all away to enjoy the pleasure of sin for the moment?
