Seeing God…

Read: Exodus 22-24
Marked: Exodus 24:11, But on the nobles of the children of Israel He did not lay His hand. So they saw God, and they ate and drank.

In verse 1 of chapter 24, God invites Moses, Aaron, Nadab, Abihu, and seventy of the elders of Israel to come up to Him. Verses 10 and 11 says, “So they saw God.”

It is remarkable to me that when Moses spent 40 days with God to receive the tables of stone, that these men, Aaron and his sons included, so quickly turned to idolatry, to the worship of false gods, and immorality, after having seen God and eaten with Him.

I am reminded of what Jesus told Thomas in John 20:29, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

True faith does not require confirmation of sight.
