Read: Leviticus 26-27
Marked: Leviticus 26:3-4, If you walk in My statutes and keep My commandments, and perform them, then I will give you rain in its season, the land shall yield its produce, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit.
God takes seriously His word. This is not legalism but truth.
Under the old covenant the people were to obey the law, every statute and every commandment. Under the new covenant Jesus says we are to keep His commandments; the commandment of love.
As I look at the old covenant I see that keeping the law was an exercise of love towards God and blessing was the result. Under the new covenant there is blessing too.
Jesus said, “But why do you call me Lord, Lord, and do not do the things which I say?”
Doing what the Lord commands results in blessing. Walking in His commandments makes us fruitful.
