Read: Deuteronomy 21-23
Marked: Deuteronomy 22:8, When you build a new house, then you shall make a parapet for your roof, that you may not bring guilt of bloodshed on your household if anyone falls from it.
Personal responsibility for the safety of others extends even to construction of a house. Railings were to be installed on the roof to prevent accidental falls.
Spiritually speaking, I am being built up through the Word. Its precepts and statutes are “railings” which keep me from falling. These guidelines are there for my protection as well as the protection of others.
As I obey the Lord, others benefit from my obedience. No one should suffer injury at my hand as long as I do what God instructs.
