Read: Deuteronomy 24-27
Marked: Deuteronomy 27:12-26 (summed up in verse 26), ‘Cursed is the one who does not confirm all the words of this law by observing them.’ “And all the people shall say, ‘Amen!’
Blessings and curses. My life is better living according to the Word of God than against it.
The list of curses, while not covering every law of God, certainly deals with important aspects of life, such as my relationship with God, how I treat my parents, or my neighbour.
It warns against cruelty, deals with matters of justice, sexual immorality, and violence, as well as being a good witness.
Finally, I am reminded in verse 26 that all the words of the law lead to blessing; not just some of the words. I must be careful not to pick and choose what I will and won’t obey.
