Read: Proverbs 4-6
Marked: Proverbs 4:20-22, My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings. Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart; For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.
To learn, to grow, to understand, to gain wisdom, we must pay attention and be attentive to God’s word.
It’s not just listening to God’s word, but focussing on and digesting it, chewing on it and then applying it. Only then will God’s word be life to me and bring me health.
When applied, and if things don’t improve, then it stands to reason that I may have misapplied His word and so I should go back, be attentive, incline my ear, and allow His word to make an adjustment in me.
