Read: Proverbs 16-18
Marked: Proverbs 16:20, He who heeds the word wisely will find good, And whoever trusts in the LORD, happy is he.
“Heeding” means, to take careful attention of something. In this case it is synonymous with obedience.
But we are to do it wisely suggesting we can pay attention in unwise or foolish ways, perhaps by taking God’s word out of context or ascribing a meaning or an understanding outside the scope of the text.
Heeding wisely always brings about good. The word of God should increase our trust in the Lord. Thrust should increase our confidence in God and bring with it a peace and certainty that God’s ways are best.
