Read: Proverbs 19-21
Marked: Proverbs 19:9, A false witness will not go unpunished, And he who speaks lies shall perish.
This verse is a warning to all who don’t uphold truth which, in this day and age, is more important than ever.
It is far too easy, via the internet and social media, to present something as fact without the due diligence of checking the source and doing some critical thinking.
Even when something is passed on and later is known to be or shown to be false, little, if any, effort is made to retract or delete what has been posted and so continues to spread.
A little leaven leavens the whole lump (Galatians 5:8). Christians, especially, should guard their hearts and strive to always present the truth since we are witnesses of the truth.
If we are perceived as purveyors of false or questionable information, why would we expect others to receive the message of Christ who is the way, the truth, and the life?
