When Anger Leads to Murder…

Read: Matthew 1-4
Marked: Matthew 2:16, Then Herod, when he saw that he was deceived by the wise men, was exceedingly angry; and he sent forth and put to death all the male children who were in Bethlehem and in all its districts, from two years old and under, according to the time which he had determined from the wise men.

Herod, having learned of the birth of the King of kings, made a pretence of wanting to worship Him, but his actions reveal the true intent of his heart.

How much of a despot does one need to be that he is threatened by Jesus and determines the deaths of innocent children?

Yet, there are those who desire what Jesus came to bring, peace, eternal life, but really want nothing to do with Him.

Some murder, with the tongue, the children who follow the Lord of Lord’s. Despots come and go in the world, but the King who rules in the heart of every believer reigns forever.
