Read: Acts 16-17
Marked: Acts 16:30, And he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?”
This man was in fear of his life. As a jailer, if any prisoners escaped, his life would be forfeit. But all the prisoners were still there, so his question takes on eternal significance.
It is such an honest question. More people should be asking it because the death rate is one per person and it’s 100% guaranteed. What must we do to be saved from death?
The answer is simple but not one many people want to hear. Truth is, there is nothing we can do, and there is nothing within our own ability to save ourselves.
But the answer is found in the next verse (V31). “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.”
