Blessed to be a Blessing…

Read: Leviticus 26-27
Marked: Leviticus 26:17, I will set My face against you, and you shall be defeated by your enemies. Those who hate you shall reign over you, and you shall flee when no one pursues you.

Chapter 26 is a very difficult chapter to read as it relates to the people of God and their obedience to Him. It begins with a promise (V4), and all God will do to bless His people, to look favourably on them (V9), and walk among them and be their God (V12).

But then comes V14 and the warning of terrible consequences should they fail to observe (obey) His commandments, despise His statutes, abhor His judgment’s, and break His covenant.

As people of God we are blessed to be a blessing. We are to bring the revelation of God to others so that they too might be blessed. But if we consume God’s blessing on ourselves and abhor His command to go and make disciples of all the nations, can we expect blessing?

Serious words for serious consideration to the work God has called His people to do. As Ephesians 5:15 warns, “See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeem the time, because the days are evil.”
