Read: Deuteronomy 21-23
Marked: Deuteronomy 22:1, “You shall not see your brother’s ox or his sheep going astray, and hide yourself from them; you shall certainly bring them back to your brother.”
The two greatest commandments, Jesus said, are to love the Lord your God, and to love your neighbour as yourself (Luke 10:27).
Love for neighbours is shown even in how we look after our neighbours property. It is good to have good neighbours. Even better still is to be a good neighbour.
Watching out for each other provides a level of security that can’t be provided another way. Proverbs 14:21a says, He who despises his neighbour sins.
