Read: Deuteronomy 32-34; Psalm 91
Marked: Deuteronomy 32:51, “because you trespassed against Me among the children of Israel at the waters of Meribah Kadesh, in the Wilderness of Zin, because you did not hallow Me in the midst of the children of Israel.”
The Lord revealed to Moses that he was about to die. This was the consequence of his trespass against God when he struck the rock in the wilderness instead of speaking to it as God had instructed.
Many believe that God will overlook their trespasses and allow them into heaven. But if God kept Moses from entering the Promised Land because of one trespass, how much more will our judgment be for a lifetime of unrepentant trespasses?
Hell is not a place God chooses to send us. It is a place of judgment, the wage we earn, the curse we place on ourselves for ignoring God and doing our own thing.
But God has made a way for us to be forgiven. He sent Jesus to become the atonement for our many sins. If we choose to believe and receive Jesus, then, and only then, do we have the right to be called the children of God and receive blessing rather than a curse.
