Read: Joshua 5-8
Marked: Joshua 6:25, And Joshua spared Rahab the harlot, her father’s household, and all that she had. So she dwells in Israel to this day, because she hid the messengers whom Joshua sent to spy out Jericho.
Of all the people that lived in Jericho, none other than Rahab and her family survived. Joshua 2:10 shows us that the people knew what God had done in Egypt. The city had ample time to surrender to Israel and turn to God as Israel marched around the city seven times.
Rahab, a sinful woman, turned to the Lord to be saved. None of the affluent people, not the king, nor any of the governing officials, survived. Only a harlot and her family.
God isn’t so much concerned with our past as He is with our present. Now is the day of salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2). What will it take for people to turn to God and be saved? Only in Christ do we have security for a future.
