Read: Psalms 89; 96; 100-101; 105; 132
Marked: Psalms 89:48, What man can live and not see death? Can he deliver his life from the power of the grave? Selah
No matter how hard we might try, exercise, good diet, medical interventions, we can’t stave off death. The message is clear, it is appointed for man to die once , but after this the judgment (Hebrews 9:26).
But some choose not to believe that. Others who do, think this is something to be considered later thinking they’ll be able to bargain with God and avoid judgment.
But man can’t deliver himself from death through good living, good intentions or skillful arguments. After death judgment awaits. It will be too late.
We cannot buy deliverance from the grave. Jesus alone paid the price for you and I. His sinless life given for us if we choose to receive life through Him. This is the mercy and grace of God.
Mercy is not getting what we deserve, and grace is getting what we don’t deserve; freedom from sin, freedom from the penalty of sin which is death, and eternal life with God through Christ the Saviour.
