Read: 2 Samuel 8-9; 1 Chronicles 18
Marked: 2 Samuel 8:7, And David took the shields of gold that had belonged to the servants of Hadadezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.
David fought against the enemy and won great victories. Even kings from other nations recognized the power of God in David. David brought the gold and other precious metals, as well as articles of bronze, and dedicated it all to God. David knew who preserved him (V6) and where his victories came from.
In Christ we can be victorious over our enemy. We shouldn’t fear him but take back from him what he has taken from us. In Christ fear becomes strength and weakness becomes power as He fills us with the Spirit of God.
