Read: Jeremiah 32-34
Marked: Jeremiah 33:17-18, “For thus says the LORD: ‘David shall never lack a man to sit on the throne of the house of Israel; nor shall the priests, the Levites, lack a man to offer burnt offerings before Me, to kindle grain offerings, and to sacrifice continually.’ ”
Trust in God. It’s the cornerstone of faith. Without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6).
God has promised that David will never lack having a descendant on the throne of Israel and the Levitical priesthood will never lack a priest to make offerings and sacrifices. One day these promises will ultimately be fulfilled when Jesus sits on the throne of David to reign as King forever. But He will not only be King, He will also be Priest.
There has never been a Priest-King until this time when Jesus brings to fulfillment every prophecy concerning Him.
