Read: Ezekiel 13-15
Marked: Ezekiel 14:12-14, The word of the LORD came again to me, saying: “Son of man, when a land sins against Me by persistent unfaithfulness, I will stretch out My hand against it; I will cut off its supply of bread, send famine on it, and cut off man and beast from it. Even [if] these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they would deliver [only] themselves by their righteousness,” says the Lord GOD.
A nation can sin against God even as an individual can. And God will judge an unrighteous nation even as He judges an unrighteous individual.
We might think that God would never judge the unrighteous as long as there are righteous people living in that nation, but that isn’t true. God knows how to preserve the righteous for He did not appoint the righteous to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ (1 Thessalonians 5:9).
It is important to note that the righteous do not qualify the unrighteous. When God stretches out His hand against a nation that sins the number of righteous people in it will not stop His hand, but He will deliver the righteous if any are found in the nation He judges.
