Read: Daniel 1-3
Marked: Daniel 2:17-18, Then Daniel went to his house, and made the decision known to Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah, his companions, that they might seek mercies from the God of heaven concerning this secret, so that Daniel and his companions might not perish with the rest of the wise [men] of Babylon.
What do we do when faced with an impossible problem? Daniel and his friends sought the mercies of God.
Not knowing what to do brings anxiety. My tendency is to seek a solution in the natural when the problem requires a supernatural one. Am I willing to go to God?
In Philippians 4:6 we are told not to be anxious, or worry, for nothing, but in everything, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let our requests be made known to God.
This is what Daniel and his friends did. They brought their very real need in earnest prayer before God. Why? Because only God can meet some needs. God listens to earnest prayer.
