Read: Daniel 4-6 Marked: Daniel 6:26-27, I make a decree that in every dominion of my kingdom [men must] tremble and fear before the God of Daniel. For He [is] the living God, And steadfast forever; His kingdom [is the one] which shall not be destroyed, And His dominion [shall endure] to the end. He delivers and rescues, And He works signs and wonders In heaven and on earth, Who has delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.
Daniel‘s faith had impacted the king. Daniel never wavered in his faith or the outward expression of his faith, even if it meant death. He didn’t fight the proclamation and willingly submitted himself to the statute no matter how wrong it was. His faith gave the king courage that God would deliver Daniel.
Through Daniel’s faith Darius learned that the God of Daniel was the living God, steadfast, King of a kingdom that cannot be destroyed, a dominion enduring to the end, a God who delivers and rescues, who works signs and wonders, in heaven and on earth, and who delivered Daniel even from the mouths of lions.
Truly a God worth knowing, following, and trusting in, even in a den of lions.
