Read: Daniel 10-12
Marked: Daniel 11:36, “Then the king shall do according to his own will: he shall exalt and magnify himself above every god, shall speak blasphemies against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the wrath has been accomplished; for what has been determined shall be done.”
The final world ruler. It always begins with men who think they know more than God. But this ruler ramps it up exalting himself above everyone else, even above God (2 Thessalonians 2:4).
Jesus told His disciples about this time in Matthew 24 and of the terrible destruction that would take place (24:21). This time is further described in Revelation 12:13-17.
This final conflict will not end unless God intervenes which is exactly what happens culminating in the return of Christ to set up His earthly kingdom. And the world will know peace for a thousand years as the Prince of Peace rules from his throne in Jerusalem.
