Read: Ezra 4-6; Psalms 137
Marked: Ezra 4:24, Thus the work of the house of God which [is] at Jerusalem ceased, and it was discontinued until the second year of the reign of Darius king of Persia.
The work of rebuilding the temple came to a halt for fifteen years. It may seem that what the Lord does in us, the building of our faith, the strengthening of our Hope in Jesus is thwarted by people or events. But nothing can stop the work of the Lord as long as we remain faithful, available, and teachable. God isn’t in a hurry.
In Philippians 1:6 Paul reminds us, “Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.”
If we find ourselves unable to continue forward we give ourselves over to the Word of God and prayer until God makes a way for us when there is no way.
