Read: Matthew 26; Mark 14
Marked: Matthew 26:41, “Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed [is] willing, but the flesh [is] weak.”
None of us really knows how we will come through something until we’ve been tested and tried. And, really, that is the sense of the word temptation. That word means, a trial, a proving, a test.
Jesus was in every way tempted as we are, yet was without sin (Hebrews 4:15). He endured the test and the trials of human suffering and was willing to endure even the cross for us (Philippians 2:8).
What am I willing to endure for the sake of others? I can’t really answer that until it happens, but I can prepare myself for it through being watchful and praying. I can never know when an assault will be made on my convictions, but I can prepare and be ready to endure it.
That’s all we can do, pray and stay close to God…Sorry for your difficulties.
