Read: Matthew 28; Mark 16
Marked: Matthew 28:19-20, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, [even] to the end of the age.” Amen.
This is the Great Commission. Unfortunately, much of the church looks on these verses as the great suggestion. But the command from the Lord is clear, “Go”.
It is the Spirit of Jesus that puts the “Go” in gospel and the “Go” in the good news about Jesus Christ. How shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they heat without a preacher? And how shall they preach unless they are sent? (Romans 10:14-15)
God is a God of mission and His will is that we be a people on mission. And the mission of the church, of each and every follower of Jesus, is to go and make disciples and teach them to obey (observe) everything the Lord commands
