Read: Ephesians 1-6
Marked: Ephesians 5:1-2, Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.
I am to imitate God as His dear child and walk in love. Walking in love leaves no room for fornication, uncleanness, or covetousness which should not even be named among believers (V3). Neither should filthiness, foolish talk, nor coarse jesting (V4).
Those who practice such things have no inheritance in the kingdom of God (V5). These are the things of my old nature and belong to the disobedient. I am not to partake with them (V7). They are the things of darkness.
But I am a child of the light and am to walk as such (V8), walking in all goodness, righteousness, and truth, discovering what is acceptable to the Lord. As an imitator of God I am to have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness (V11).
