Read: Genesis 4-7
Marked: Genesis 4:3-5, And in the process of time it came to pass that Cain brought an offering of the fruit of the ground to the LORD. Abel also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of their fat. And the LORD respected Abel and his offering, but He did not respect Cain and his offering. And Cain was very angry, and his countenance fell.
What we bring to the Lord in offering isn’t as important as to how we bring it. Are we coming to God in worship recognizing His Holiness and presence in our lives?
Consider the opening words of the Lord’s Prayer in Matthew 6:9, Our Father: recognizing God in relationship with us. In heaven: God’s supremacy. Hallowed: His Holiness and perfect moral goodness. Your Kingdom come: our desire for His rule and authority in our lives
