Marked: Genesis 22:8, And Abraham said, “My son, God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering.” So the two of them went together.
The idea of sacrificing a child is abhorrent, and rightly so. Yet, a sacrifice of a Son was made by a Father so that we could have life eternal. That was the price paid for our sin.
The Bible says God demonstrates His own love toward us that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us (Romans 5:8). Why did He do that?
In Isaiah 53:6 we are told that we have all gone astray like sheep. We have all done our own thing, and the Lord laid on Him (Jesus) our iniquity.
