Trusting God…

Read: Genesis 30-31
Marked: Genesis 31:7-8, “Yet your father has deceived me and changed my wages ten times, but God did not allow him to hurt me. If he said thus: ‘The speckled shall be your wages,’ then all the flocks bore speckled. And if he said thus: ‘The streaked shall be your wages,’ then all the flocks bore streaked.”

Laban was a man not to be trusted. Though he had agreed to Jacob’s terms he nevertheless changed the terms at his discretion. Yet, Jacob prospered.

When God speaks and promises us eternal life with Christ when we put our faith in Jesus, we can be sure that the terms of God’s covenant with us will never change.

God is not a man that He should lie, nor a son of man that He should repent. He has spoken and that should be good enough for us. He promises to prosper us and make us successful when we put our hope in Him.
