Read: Joshua 22-24
Marked: Joshua 23:15, “Therefore it shall come to pass, that as all the good things have come upon you which the LORD your God promised you, so the LORD will bring upon you all harmful things, until He has destroyed you from this good land which the LORD your God has given you.”
Joshua reminds the people that God has kept all His promises (V3, 5), but reminds them to be faithful and obedient (V6).
I can rejoice in the faithfulness of God and rejoice in His promises, but forget, or ignore, that as He has promised to bless me He has also warned of consequences should I stray from His path.
For example, in Romans 1:18, 24, 26. Also in 1 Corinthians 3:12-17. God’s promises are precious to me, but I must not let faith in His promises keep me from walking in righteousness for God chastens those He loves as a good father (Hebrews 12:6).
