Read: 1 Samuel 25-27
Marked: 1 Samuel 26:24, “And indeed, as your life was valued much this day in my eyes, so let my life be valued much in the eyes of the LORD, and let Him deliver me out of all tribulation.”
Where do I find validation? David had been hated and hunted by Saul. David had had several opportunities to kill Saul but stayed his hand saying, “The Lord forbid I should stretch out my hand against the Lord’s anointed.” (V11)
I might think David would be justified in acting against Saul. I justify my actions against others for far less. But David wasn’t concerned what others might do or even what others might think of him.
He only cared about what God thought of him. His validation didn’t come from Saul or anyone else. His life’s value was found in the eyes of Lord, therefore David let God deliver him from tribulation.
