Read: Nehemiah 8-9
Marked: Nehemiah 8:14, And they found written in the Law, which the LORD had commanded by Moses, that the children of Israel should dwell in booths during the feast of the seventh month,
As Ezra read from the Book of Moses, the first five books of the Bible, they saw written there the command to keep the Feast of Tabernacles.
Immediately they stopped what they were doing and went and gathered materials to build the necessary booths for themselves and their families (V16).
When I see a command or instruction in Scripture, waiting to obey it usually means I forget about it. If I learn to observe Scripture, interpret it in light of its context, and apply it forthwith I will be the better for it.
The Word will work in me all the sooner and I will have a very great gladness (V17) as my spirit aligns with God’s Spirit in obedience.
