Read: Job 1-4
Marked: Job 1:1, There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name [was] Job; and that man was blameless and upright, and one who feared God and shunned evil.
We are introduced to a man named Job, a man who was blameless and upright, one who feared God and shunned evil. God, again, declares Job to be such a man in verse 8.
There is another type of man, the antithesis of Job according to Isaiah 59:6b-8. One who works works of iniquity; and the act of violence is in his hand. His feet run to evil and makes haste to shed innocent blood; his thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction is in his paths.
He does not know the way of peace, and there is no justice in his ways; he makes for himself crooked paths; whoever takes that way shall not know peace.
What kind of man do I want to be? Though life may become hard, as it did for Job, the first type of man will see the salvation of God while the second will come to destruction.
