In a final world conflict the nations of the world will come against Israel (Zechariah 12) and God will defend Israel (V9). Immediately after, the people of Israel will finally recognize their pierced Messiah, Jesus (V10). All their sin and shame will be atoned for (Zechariah 13:1) and God will finally cleanse the land of idolatry and false prophets once and for all(V2).
When Jesus returns at the end of this final battle His feet will stand on the Mount of Olives (Zechariah 14:3-5) and a valley will be formed and living water will flow causing the desert to bloom (Isaiah 35:1) and the Lord shall be King over all the earth (V9).
After the total destruction of the armies against Israel the survivors will go up from year to year to worship the King (V16) during Christ’s millennial reign.
