Read: Proverbs 30-31
Marked: Proverbs 30:5, Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.
The word, “pure”, is used as in the smelting of metal in a fire, especially of gold. It is refined in the fire. Once gold is refined, if it is put into the fire again, it doesn’t lose its purity, it retains it.
Likewise, God’s word can be tested in the fire of adversity and found to retain its value. It doesn’t lose its purity when it is tested.
So the Proverb is true; by testing God’s word I find God is indeed a shield around me when I trust in Him and in His word.
