Not Forsaken, but Revived…

Read: Ezra 7-10
Marked: Ezra 9:9, “For we [were] slaves. Yet our God did not forsake us in our bondage; but He extended mercy to us in the sight of the kings of Persia, to revive us, to repair the house of our God, to rebuild its ruins, and to give us a wall in Judah and Jerusalem.”

Romans 6:6 says that our old man was crucified with Christ that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves of sin.

That’s what we all are, slaves to sin. But like Ezra discovered, God has not forsaken us in our bondage, but He extended mercy to us through Jesus Christ because when we receive Jesus as Saviour we are crucified with Him, dead to the flesh but alive to the Spirit of God in Christ, not letting sin reign in our bodies, and not giving ourselves as instruments of righteousness to God (Romans 6:11-13).

When we do that, God rebuilds and repairs the temple which is our body and revives us.
